Ottomans

Our ottomans are handmade in Morocco by the local artisans using century old techniques. Each piece has been hand stitched with love, pride and dedication. Dedication to keeping tradition alive. The solid coloured ottomans are made of a goat leather and the metallics are a synthetic. As each ottoman is hand made, it may vary slightly in size from product sizings.

To stuff your ottoman

  1. Unzip your ottoman
  2. Put your hands through the opening and push out each section of the ottoman until you have shaped it. It is important to ensure all sections have been pushed out properly.

Ottomans can be stuffed with a variety of fillings. It all depends on the firmness and feel you are after. The following are a suggstion. There are other options available.

  1. Bean Bag Filling - Take your ottoman to the nearest Bean Bag Shop. Insert a liner and start filling. When desired result achieved, stop, cut off the zipper on the liner, to avoid choking hazards in younger children and animals. Zip up your ottoman.
  2. Crushed Foam - Very messy and definitely needs a liner. Fill to desired firmness, constantly compacting the foam. When desired result achieved, stop, cut off the zipper on the liner to void choking hazards in younger children and animals. Zip up your ottman.
  3. Bags of Rags/Old clothing - Easy, cheap but also a heavier option for your ottoman.
  4. Polyester - Fill to desired firmness. When achieved, zip up your ottoman.
  5. Use as a keepsake box. All those baby clothes and stuffed animals you don't want to throw out, use to fill your ottoman.

How to Clean your Ottoman

Leather ottomans can be cleaned and rejuvenated like any other leather product. Rub stains gently with warm water and a mild detergent, leather cleaner or even eucalyptus oil. Remember to always try in an inconspicuous spot. DO NOT press too hard, as colour will be lifted. We do not recommend washing the nude nor tan ottomans. These two colours are the closest to natural leather and attempting to remove stains will mark the ottomans.

To bring your coloured ottomans back to life, use shoe polish.

Make sure you constantly rotate your ottoman to avoid wear and tear in the one spot. If your ottoman is in the sun, you MUST always move it around to avoid the colour fading.

If your ottoman has lost its firmness, unzip it and simply add more filling.

Ottomans are hand made of a natural fibre by people not machines. As a result your ottoman may contain slight flaws and variations in colour and finish. Please accept these minor imperfections as characteistics of your beautifully handmade ottoman.

Please note ottomans may vary in colour, design and finish to pictured ottomans. This is as each ottoman is handmade of a natural fibre.
